Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how The Travel Spark Company LLC handles information in connection with San Francisco Trip Guide. It applies to this website and does not govern a booking provider, transit operator, public agency, venue, or other third party.

1. Current privacy posture

The site is designed to work without a visitor account, newsletter subscription, active contact form, advertising pixel, embedded map, or theme-owned analytics service. The current Contact page contains disabled preview fields that do not submit or transmit information. Do not place personal information in those fields.

As with most websites, the hosting and security layers may process basic request information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information, referring URL, response status, and security signals. The theme does not add those server logs and cannot determine every host-level retention setting.

2. WordPress and essential storage

WordPress may use strictly necessary cookies for administrators who sign in and for features that require a security nonce or session. Public visitors are not asked to create an account through this theme. If comments, authentication, or another interactive WordPress feature is enabled later, its additional cookies and data flows must be documented before use.

LiteSpeed Cache, Wordfence, ManageWP, JetBackup, Yoast SEO, IndexNow, Brevo, Novamira, and TravelSpark are present in the WordPress installation. Plugin activation alone does not prove that every feature is configured or used on a public visit. Their behavior, settings, external requests, cookies, and retention should be reviewed separately by the site owner and hosting administrator.

3. TravelSpark and provider links

The Tours page and some article or archive placements may be rendered by TravelSpark. A provider module can request product information, images, prices, ratings, availability, localization, or tracking data from TravelSpark or its named partners. Clicking a provider link can take you to a third-party site, where that provider’s privacy policy and terms apply.

Provider links may be sponsored affiliate links. A tracking URL can include campaign, page, placement, or product identifiers so a provider can attribute a referral. The site may receive a commission from a qualifying purchase. San Francisco Trip Guide does not control a provider’s checkout, account, payment, booking, cancellation, or post-purchase processing.

4. Contact and email

Message delivery is not currently configured. The disabled form preview has no recipient and does not store a submission. Brevo is installed, but this theme does not create a subscription form, send a message, add a subscriber, or claim verified email delivery. If email or contact features are authorized later, this policy should be updated before collection begins to explain the fields, purpose, lawful basis selected by the owner, service providers, retention, and deletion process.

5. Analytics, advertising, maps, and embeds

The theme does not load a theme-owned analytics script, advertising network, map embed, video embed, social feed, external font, or chat widget. No nonessential service should be loaded before any consent that applicable law and the chosen service require. If one is added, the owner must document the vendor, purpose, data, cookies or local storage, transfer locations, consent behavior, and withdrawal control.

6. Security

The theme uses standard WordPress practices such as capability checks, nonces on administrative setup actions, sanitization before storage, contextual escaping, secure redirects, and no bundled credentials. No website can promise absolute security. Security plugins, server configuration, updates, backups, access control, and incident response remain operational responsibilities beyond the theme itself.

7. Retention

The theme does not define retention for server logs, security events, backups, provider analytics, or plugin data. Those periods depend on the hosting account and each configured service. The owner should choose and document periods that are necessary for the stated purpose and delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to legitimate security, legal, and accounting requirements.

8. Your choices

You can browse the editorial pages without using the Tours page or following a sponsored link. You can configure your browser to limit cookies, although blocking essential storage may affect administrator or security features. Requests concerning personal data require a verified owner contact method; one is not yet published. The site should not claim that a request was received until a functioning channel exists.

9. Children

This is a general travel-information site, not a service designed to collect information from children. The theme does not knowingly create a child account or submission flow. If an interactive feature aimed at families or children is added later, it requires a separate privacy and legal assessment.

10. External sites

Links to public agencies, cultural institutions, photographers, Creative Commons licenses, tour providers, and other external sites are provided for context. Their operators control their own data practices. A link does not make San Francisco Trip Guide responsible for the external site.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised when the technical stack, owner decisions, or data practices change. The updated date should change with the text. Material new collection should not begin silently; the relevant notice and controls should be in place first.

12. Contact status

The current Contact page clearly identifies that message delivery is inactive and does not collect a submission. Until an authorized request channel is enabled, do not send private information through provider reviews, social comments, booking channels, or unrelated addresses. This policy must be updated before any new collection begins.
